MONTHLY PRACTICE TIPS PRACTICE GUIDE

Establishing a Routine
The beginning of the school year is a time of transition. It can be very exciting but it can also be exhausting. If you have been away from the piano for a while, it might be difficult to suddenly get back into a healthy practice routine. However, setting aside some time to just enjoy the piano can often help you feel more centered and relaxed. Start by just getting yourself to the piano. It doesn't matter what you play. Play anything -just enjoy yourself! Perhaps you might enjoy playing old repertoire, sightreading something new, or making up your own piece. The most important thing is that you go to the piano - even if it is just for five minutes. Have fun!
