MOTIVATION

I believe that motivation is the key to progress. What motivates you? Are you working towards a specific goal such as a performance, an audition, a competition or a recording session? Perhaps you would like to participate in an informal recital, a masterclass or a group class. Perhaps you would like to make a recording to give to someone as a gift. Discuss these and other ideas with your teacher. Once you've decided on a long term goal, it's a good idea to try to break it up into a series of short and realistic goals.

Try visualizing yourself accomplishing your goals. Try to set aside a certain time during each day to pursue your goals. Stay focused. Believe in yourself. Enjoy the process, not just the end result. Some people get inspired from listening to certain recordings and/or attending live performances. What inspires you?
