Developing Good Posture, Strength and Body Alignment

Unfortunately, overuse, as well as misuse, of the body is common in performing artists. Iyengar Yoga,
the Alexander Technique and the Feldenkrais method have proven to be very helpful for many musicians.
I practiced the Alexander Technique for many years and found it to be extremely helpful in helping me
undo years of ‘downward pull’. I am currently practicing Iyengar Yoga and I find that as I continue to
develop more awareness of my alignment I am also becoming stronger -and I feel great!

The following books are excellent sources to consult while you are pursuing classes or lessons
in either the Alexander Technique or Yoga: Recommended Books
